Overview
At Agrupa Global Talent, we are looking for an Operations Manager located near Brescia for an international company in the environmental sector, operating waste treatment plants. This key role will lead the operations of the company in Italy, focus on waste management. Currently, the company runs a facility with 15 people and a capacity of up to 73.000 tons with different treatments: evaporation, physicochemical treatment, sludge treatment via filter press, and biological processes. The main objective of this role is to grow the business and ensure the plants operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with regulations, while supporting the company’s sustainability and operational goals.
Responsibilities
* Financial Responsibility: Manage the plant’s financial performance, including budget preparation and follow-up. Full P&L ownership of the site.
* Operational Leadership: Oversee all operational departments, including Production and Maintenance, Laboratory, Logistics and Administration, and SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality).
* Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team of approximately 15 people, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
* Performance Management: Ensure achievement of plant targets in terms of EBITDA, SHEQ indicators, and operational KPIs.
* Regulatory Compliance: Maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with all legal and environmental requirements.
* Safety Culture: Embed strong safety practices into all production and maintenance activities.
* Strategic Planning: Coordinate industrial operations, support investments, and contribute to corporate initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
* University degree in Chemical, Industrial, Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration (with relevant operational experience).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a plant or a business unit in the waste, chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas industries. Experience in plastics or pharmaceuticals will also be considered.
* Solid financial knowledge and experience managing P&L.
* Strong organizational and planning skills in production environments.
* Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
* Ability to manage relationships with regulatory authorities.
* Professional proficiency in English.
* Residency in the Brescia / Bergamo area or willingness to relocate.
Desirable Qualifications
* MBA or a Master’s degree in a related field focused on operations or financial management.
* Experience working with ERP systems, particularly SAP.
* Knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainable industrial practices.
* Experience implementing safety and quality systems.
