REGULATORY ECONOMIST / AFFAIRS
We are seeking a skilled economist to join our team and assist with economic analysis related to regulatory and policy issues. Your role involves conducting analysis to understand how new policies and regulations might affect market efficiency at both the company and industry levels. Reporting directly to the Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs for ltaly and based in Rome, you will support assessments of how regulations impact products, conduct, distribution and capital. You will also help develop strategies to ensure Allianz's viewpoints are well represented in policy discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with business functions to analyze the impact of new regulatory proposals on products and processes.
* Provide economic analysis and research to support strategic positioning.
* Monitor trends and positions set by national and EU regulators and stakeholders.
* Work with other Allianz teams across different markets.
* Support the creation of advocacy strategies for policy discussions.
* Engage with external partners like Think Tanks and lndustry Associations.
Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:
* At least 3 years of experience in applied economics, economic research, or regulatory strategies within a financial institution.
* Experience in government, international organizations, or supervisory agencies, preferably in the insurance or financial sectors.
* Ability to gather and use political intelligence relevant to Allianz.
* Strong skills in multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making, both independently and as part of a team.
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills, experience in multicultural and international settings.
* Strong communication skills, with experience in contributing to policy debates.
* Open to process improvements and optimization.
* Data analytics and data reporting
* Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken) and ideally proficiency in German
