We are looking for a highly motivated 3GPP Standardization Delegate to join in the technical team.
The 3GPP Standardization Engineer acts as a key representative of the company within 3GPP standardization activities (RAN/Core), with the primary objective of monitoring and interpreting the evolution of technical specifications and associated intellectual property landscapes.
In this role, the engineer also contributes to supporting the identification of Standard Essential Patent (SEP) opportunities by enabling the detection of opportunities for potential licensing activities.
The role also provides critical technical insights to guide internal research directions, IP strategy, and licensing initiatives, ensuring alignment between standardization developments and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Standard Monitoring & Representation
* Act as company representative in 3GPP standardization meetings
* Closely monitor the evolution of technical specifications across 5G and emerging 6G work items
* Track discussions, decisions, and technical directions within working groups
* Provide structured reporting and insights on standardization progress and key developments
2. Technology & IP Intelligence
* Analyze 3GPP specifications to identify key technical features with potential IP relevance and areas of high innovation density
* Identify emerging technological trends and assess their potential impact on the company’s IP portfolio
* Identify opportunities for potential patent licensing activities
* Support in patent/technology landscaping activities related to 3GPP standards
Required Skills & Experience
* Master’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science or equivalent.
* Background in: 4G/5G/6G systems (RAN or Core) telecom protocols and architectures
* Experience in 3GPP standardization (highly preferred)
* Basic knowledge of the patent system
* Fluent English (spoken and written)
Travel Requirements
* This role requires regular international travel to attend 3GPP standardization meetings and industry events in Europe, Asia, North America, and may account for around 20% of working time.

* Strong networking capabilities, particularly in the context of standardization meetings and industry forums.

Compensation & Work Model:
* Salary Range: 50.000
* Flexible hybrid work on a monthly basis
* Relocation support for candidates moving to Italy.
