Summary
The Internal Logistics Engineer is a member of the central Head Quarter Coordination team, which coordinates and supports the Pirelli Manufacturing Excellence program worldwide. The main objective is the development and successful implementation of the system, focused on the continuous improvement of the material flow inside the factories to achieve significant cost savings, improve flexibility and service level both internally and to the market.
Core Activities
* Study and monitoring of material workflows, including routes, PFEP, information, and human resources in the logistics area to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
* Development of efficiency projects and design and implementation of initiatives to optimize resources, reduce waste, and improve profitability of the logistics process.
* Analysis and improvement of logistics flows to increase productivity and reduce non‑value‑added activities or the number of FTEs required for logistics operations.
* Systematic analysis of causes of anomalies or problems in the logistics process.
* Identification of safety risks in logistics activities in collaboration with the HSE department and development of improvement projects integrating Excellence in Safety concepts.
* Drafting of technical specifications, creation of technical data sheets, drawings, and documents with detailed specifications for new materials, containers, or processes.
* Creation and recording of best practices: documentation, validation, and recording of best logistics practices developed internally for systematic application.
Requirements
* At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing; experience in logistics is highly recommended.
* Master's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or Supply Chain Management.
* Fluency in English; additional languages used in Pirelli factories worldwide (German, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Chinese) are considered a plus.
* Sound understanding of Manufacturing Improvement Systems.
* Sound understanding of Material Flow, Internal Logistics and Work Organization improvement methods.
* Ability to work in international teams.
* Travel flexibility.
