The Role
You will work in a multicultural, multi-disciplinary group, collaborating with junior and senior scientists to achieve shared research objectives.
As part of the Dynamic Legged Systems Research Unit, you will help develop next-generation quadruped robots for challenging terrain and space applications.
Design and develop mechanical parts for robots and equipment.
Continuously improve robot performance and robustness, analysing test reports.
Maintain, test, and assemble new mechanical components.
Collaborate with technicians supporting R&D; and maintenance activities.
Prepare documentation based on client requirements.
Support the mechanical design group lead in management and leadership activities.
Essential Requirements
A Master's degree in Robotics, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
At least 3 years of industry experience following the Master's degree.
Proficient in CAD software (preferably Siemens NX).
Good knowledge of FEA software.
Understanding of dimensional and geometrical tolerances and manufacturing processes, especially CNC machining.
Experience with mechanical systems, assembly, and practical laboratory work.
Excellent communication skills and willingness to integrate within a multidisciplinary international research group.
Good command of spoken and written English.
Additional Skills
Knowledge of coding with Matlab or Python.
