Ph3Description /h3 pThe Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) team is seeking engineers who can deploy, operate, and maintain our large‑scale, high‑density data center facilities—including electrical, mechanical, control, and fire‑fighting systems—and manage related projects. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 h3SAFETY /h3 ul liFollow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world‑class safety culture. /li liLead by example in implementing and maintaining AWS safety protocols. /li liRespond to emergency situations and coordinate with emergency services as needed. /li /ul h3Engineering Facility Operations Maintenance /h3 ul liOperational hands‑on experience and deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fire protection and control systems (UPS/UPS’s, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS’s, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Water treatment systems, STS, Exhaust Fans, VFD’s, Fire Systems and Transformers). /li liOperate, monitor, and maintain fire detection and suppression systems including pre‑action systems, VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus), and other fire protection equipment. /li liDraft, review, and publish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), and Methods of Procedures (MOP) for in‑house activities. /li liReview vendor documentation for preventative maintenance (e.g., RAMS – Risk Assessment Method of Statement). /li liPerform routine inspections and testing of fire alarm panels, smoke detectors, and suppression systems in accordance with AWS standards and local regulations. /li liTroubleshoot and resolve straightforward electro‑mechanical problems within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs). /li liTake daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log‑taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.). /li liPerform hands‑on preventive and corrective maintenance activities on critical infrastructure. /li liExecute equipment repairs, replacements, and facility modifications in accordance with AWS standards and guidelines. /li liMaintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities, equipment performance, and system configurations. /li liCollaborate with internal AWS teams on capacity planning and infrastructure improvements. /li liSupervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance. /li liRespond to alarms and perform emergency troubleshooting and repairs. /li liTrain new team members (Drill, Buddy, Mentor). /li liParticipate in business reviews (e.g., WBR/MBR). /li liExecute and plan work assignments using maintenance and change management documents, reviewing outstanding action items with the Facility Manager and/or Chief Engineer. /li liTake action to make improvements based on operating experience, assist in creating process improvement plans, and provide feedback to site leadership. /li liManage ticketing systems for Preventive and Corrective Maintenance (CMMS, Incident management tool). /li liManual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health safety regulations). /li /ul h3SHIFT WORK /h3 pThis is a shift‑based position requiring availability to work rotating shifts. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul li4+ years of hands‑on experience with critical facility operations and maintenance. /li liProfessional or formal Electrical Certification, Apprentice/trades certified, or diploma in an Electrical field. /li liDemonstrate advanced electrical competencies (practice theory) and strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, Controls). /li liKnowledge of fire detection and suppression systems. /li liVery good command of English (written and spoken). /li liDriving license valid in Italy (required for shift‑based schedule). /li liAvailability to work in shifts. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liData Center/mission critical engineering experience. /li liExperience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and monitoring platforms. /li liHands‑on experience with fire protection systems including pre‑action, VESDA, and gaseous suppression systems. /li liExperience performing direct maintenance and repairs on critical infrastructure equipment. /li liExperience working in shift‑based operations environments. /li liWillingness to travel between data center sites, and internationally if required. /li liExperience leading technical projects or initiatives. /li liDemonstrated experience mentoring or training technical staff. /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
