The Main Press Centre Operations Manager has the key role to manage and oversee the daily operations of the MPC, ensuring that all media service areas function smoothly and efficiently.
The role involves coordinating logistics matters, supervising the setup and maintenance of all press-related facilities, and addressing operational challenges that may arise. This role involves liaising with multiple departments to maintain a collaborative environment and ensure operational success. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential for success in the role.
•Oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring that all functional areas operate smoothly.
•Implement operational plans and ensure adherence to established protocols.
•Supervise and support functional area managers, such as Security, Food and Beverage, Clean and Waste, Technology, etc.
•Deploy and manage staff and volunteers to fulfil operational roles.
•Respond to and resolve operational issues as they may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to events, escalate when necessary.
•Monitor the quality of the services provided and ensure that they meet the required standards.
•Organize and deliver daily briefings with venue staff and functional area leads to review the day's event schedule, operational priorities, and any updates or changes.
•Ensure that all team members are aligned on their responsibilities, safety protocols, and any critical information related to guest services, security, or logistics.
•Plan, implement and monitor daily checklist and reporting activities, and combine information for daily reports (numbers, statistics etc).
•Coordinate external visits during Games Time by planning drop offs, internal guest flows and other FA's involvement.
•Coordinate closely with the MPC Manager and Deputy Manager as well as other key team members, to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.
•Submit daily reports to the MPC Manager.
