OVERVIEWWe are looking for a consultant to provide advanced engineering support in the field of satellite communications, with a primary focus on the implementation of a secure satellite system.The role requires strong expertise in radio propagation modelling and link budget analysis for satellite systems (GSO and NGSO), as well as proven experience in interference assessment, coexistence studies, and system performance analysis.The successful candidate must also have an in-depth understanding of the ITU regulatory framework for satellite systems, including frequency coordination procedures, Article 22 provisions, and NGSO-to-GSO / NGSO-to-NGSO coexistence analyses.Aumenti le sue possibilità di ottenere un colloquio leggendo la seguente panoramica di questo ruolo prima di candidarsi.RESPONSIBILITIESThe consultant will provide continuous engineering support for complex satellite coordination and compatibility studies, including:Development and implementation of detailed system models using specialised simulation tools (system geometry, RF parameters, system assumptions)Interference analysis (GSO protection under ITU Radio Regulations Article 22)NGSO–GSO compatibility studiesNGSO–NGSO coexistence assessmentsLink budget calculations and performance evaluationsSystem performance simulations and analysisInterpretation of simulation results and translation into engineering conclusions for regulatory coordinationPreparation of technical reports, coordination inputs, and study documentationContribution to bilateral and multilateral frequency coordination processes with national administrationsSupport to scenario-based studies for coordination meetings and regulatory discussionsKnowledge transfer to internal teams (methodologies, assumptions, results interpretation, and tool training)TOOLS & WORKING ENVIRONMENTWork will be performed using specialised satellite system simulation tools (e.g., Visualyse or equivalent)All required software tools and licenses will be providedHands-on experience with such tools is mandatoryREQUIREMENTSEssential:University degree in Electrical / Telecommunication / Electronics Engineering or equivalentMinimum 10 years of experience in satellite communications, radio spectrum, and frequency coordinationStrong hands-on experience in radio propagation modelling and link budget analysis for satellite systems (GSO xdwybme and NGSO)Strong hands-on experience in RF interference assessment, coexistence studies, and performance analysisSolid understanding of ITU regulatory framework for satellite systems (including Article 22 and coexistence analyses)Experience with satellite system simulation tools (Visualyse or equivalent)Excellent English (spoken and written)Availability for occasional travel to meetings and regulatory discussionsDesirable:Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamWORKING ARRANGEMENTSOn-site presence required at client premises in Ispra, ItalyOccasional travel required for coordination meetings with national administrations and stakeholders
