PpbJob Description /b As a member of UL Solutions’ Energy Storage Advisory team within the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Renewables business, the bSenior Project Manager /b provides technical and commercial due diligence support for Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) projects across energy storage, solar + storage, and hybrid renewable portfolios. This position supports project financing, sales, and acquisition technical due diligence (TDD) transactions by evaluating project contracts, financial models, technical designs, and documentation to assess risk, performance, and bankability. The Senior Project Manager integrates input from multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent, high-quality advisory reports for clients that include lenders, developers, and investors. This role can be located in Spain, Poland, or the UK. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liPerform and lead technical due diligence reviews for energy storage and solar + storage hybrid projects supporting financing, acquisition, and development activities. /li liReview and interpret project contracts—including EPC, BSA, interconnection, PPA, OM, LTSA and major supply agreements—to identify technical and commercial risks. /li liAnalyze and validate financial models, assessing CAPEX, OPEX, warranties, degradation, performance assumptions, and other key financial drivers. /li liEvaluate project energy use cases, operating profiles, and dispatch strategies to ensure alignment with technical capabilities and market conditions. /li liCompile and complete TDD reports, summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations to ensure clarity, quality, and consistency. /li liIntegrate multidisciplinary input (engineering, financial, and environmental) to ensure a coherent and technically sound final deliverable. /li liCollaborate with Project Managers to align technical work with project scope, schedule, and budget, supporting on-time and on-budget delivery. /li liEngage directly with clients, lenders, and developers, presenting technical results, responding to comments, and maintaining professional client relationships. /li liIdentify and communicate project risks and mitigation strategies, applying lessons learned and best practices. /li liSupport business development, including supporting proposal preparation and strategic client outreach. /li liRepresent UL Solutions externally at conferences and industry events, contributing to thought leadership within the renewables sector. /li liMentor junior staff and provide guidance to peers across disciplines to strengthen technical and commercial capabilities within the organization. /li liContribute to the continuous improvement of internal tools, templates, and methodologies for due diligence and advisory services. /li liOccasionally travel (10%) for conferences, client meetings, and project deliverables. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred. /li liMinimum of 8 years of experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or related industries, preferably within a technical advisory, developer, or lender environment. /li liProven experience performing contract and financial model reviews for energy infrastructure projects. /li liStrong understanding of project finance concepts, risk assessment, and bankability considerations. /li liDemonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple concurrent projects. /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. /li liStrong commercial acumen and understanding of how technical and contractual factors influence project economics. /li liProven client-facing delivery experience and comfort interacting with senior stakeholders. /li liAbility and willingness to mentor junior staff and share expertise across the organization. /li liFamiliarity with market, policy, and regulatory trends influencing the European energy storage sector. /li liAbility to work in a team environment and successfully manage multiple complicated projects. /li liLanguage Skills: English is a must; other language skills (Polish, Spanish, Italian, German) will be of high interest. /li liKnowledge of Python, SCADA and cybersecurity would be a plus. /li /ul pThe ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with commercial awareness and communication skills. Salary range varies by location and local market conditions. For Poland, the salary range for this position is PLN 171,000-228,000 gross/year. It is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% of base salary.
