Where will you be working?
Koole Terminals acquired the Alkion group early 2023, expanding its terminal network with 8 terminals, spread over France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The integrated company is centrally supported out of Rotterdam with technical activities, in the areas of project management, asset integrity, engineering and process automation. As asset manager you will act as the liaison between these European terminals and the central technical organization. You will be responsible for improvements by driving application of corporate best practices in project execution and asset integrity, and use of engineering support. The role reports to the Director of the corresponding Business Unit, as well as the Corporate Technical Director (dotted).
In this role you will have a lot of responsibilities and you will work in the centre of a dynamic and growing organisation. You will identify, analyse and drive improvement opportunities and will be a true support for the terminals in obtaining improved performance. You will work closely with both the terminal management teams, as well as the central technical team, with the objective to obtain excellence and growth.

Representative activities
Support terminal management teams by leveraging central engineering knowledge and resources
Validate and challenge project proposals (business case, scope, technical readiness)
Verify project progress (safe execution, deliverables, schedules, field verification). Ensure implementation of best practices.
Review and adjust annual maintenance plans and budgets, establishing optimum use of resources (Capex). Work with the terminals to track and secure plan delivery throughout the year
Drive efficiency programs, most noteworthy around tank maintenance
Facilitate process safety improvements, e.g. by ensuring HAZOP studies and incident investigations
Requirements
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering, chemical engineering,..).
10+ years of hands-on experience in the tank storage or petrochemical industry, of which preferably several years in maintenance.
Driven and a strong capability to influence without formal authority
A personality that navigates easily within a variety of cultures, and at all levels of the organization
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, in English. French is a plus.
Willingness to travel on frequent basis (around twice a month a two day trip)
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
You are familiar with the mission and vision of Koole and the Business Unit, and are able to translate this into tangible opportunities.
