Position: CERTIFICATION&AUTHORIZATION ENGINEER
The Certification Engineer collaborates with the C&A manager in the application of the C&A process to obtain the necessary certificates and authorizations for a Railways Vehicle, according to a defined C&A strategy. She/He is part of the C&V EDU (Engineering Design Unit) and operates in a Rolling Stock project frame, according to European Regulation (IV Railway Package), National Rules and laws and internal procedures. Functionally, she/he reports to the Project C&A Manager; hierarchically to the C&A Site Leader. She/He is responsible for:
1. Carry out dedicated activities within the C&A processes in accordance with the project C&A management plan during all project phases.
2. Support the C&A Manager in the identification and preparation of Certification and/or Authorisation requirements.
3. Support the C&A Manager in the preparation of evidence documents plan with the project team.
4. Collect and compile the C&A evidence documents to be submitted to independent assessors and/or the authorising entities.
5. Organise periodic reviews of evidence documentation and assessment reports.
6. Maintain the certification related data in the requirement management tools.
7. Compile and keep track of C&A relevant reporting, Cost overview.
8. Be a key partner of the project team for: Engineering, RAMS, Quality, Planning, Validation, Maintenance, Sourcing.
9. Prepare the selection material and collaborate with independent assessors, DeBo, AsBo, and authorising entities.
10. Compile the Certification and Authorisation application file(s).
11. Participate in the modifications follow-up of the certified/authorised vehicle configuration(s).
12. Act on behalf of the C&A Manager upon requests for a specific scope of a project.
She/he is also responsible for the monitoring of the performances of the Certification Process according to specific QCD targets; she/he provides periodical progress KPI to C&A Manager.
Knowledge & Experience
* Mastering of Certification process (at least 2 years in Railways or Automotive or Aerospace domain)
* Train system and subsystem knowledge (at least 2 years)
* Customer and external stakeholders Technical Management
* Fluent in English
