GLOBAL CATEGORY LEAD
For our client, an international leading B2B company, we are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Global Category Lead to develop and implement a category-driven approach. This role will focus on structuring and managing product categories to enhance market positioning, drive innovation and support commercial strategies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading a transformational shift towards a market-oriented category management approach, with an emphasis on three key categories.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy Development : Define and implement a comprehensive category management strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
Market Intelligence & Consumer Insights : Conduct market research and consumer analysis to understand industry trends, customer preferences and competitive landscapes, ensuring category strategies are data-driven and identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation
Product Portfolio Management : Work closely with R&D and Sales to identify product opportunities and ensure the right portfolio mix for each category
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all category strategies and product developments adhere to local and international regulatory requirements
Cross-functional Collaboration : Act as a bridge with sales, regulatory and production teams, ensuring category needs are fully integrated into business operations.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Support the commercial team in developing marketing and sales strategies tailored to each category, including pricing, promotion and distribution.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization : Define KPIs for each category, track performance and implement continuous improvements to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
The ideal candidate has a strong marketing and category management background, combined with a deep understanding of industry trends, consumer needs and strategic business development.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Category Management or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in category management, marketing or business development within B2C industries.
Extensive experience in managing Business-to-Consumer (B2C) marketing is considered essential, as it significantly contributes to the development of value-driven partnerships with client enterprises.
Strong expertise in market research, product positioning and commercial strategy development.
Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and align internal stakeholders around category objectives.
Experience in data-driven decision-making, with proficiency in consumer insights and trend analysis.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical and financial acumen.
Experience working in a fast-paced global environment.
Entrepreneurial approach and mind-set hands-on
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Experience in global / international roles
