Role: Graduate Layout and Piping DesignerYou will embark on a comprehensive journey developing expertise in piping systems and plant layout design. You\'ll master industry-leading CAD software while creating 2D/3D piping layouts, isometric drawings, and equipment arrangements. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you\'ll learn to design compliant piping systems, perform clash detection, and contribute to live projects. This role offers hands-on experience in transforming process requirements into practical, efficient designs that support Veolia\'s environmental infrastructure projects globally.
Day-to-Day Duties and Learnings
Develop 2D/3D piping layouts and isometric drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD Plant, E3D, Navisworks)
Design piping systems including routing, support structures, and equipment arrangements while considering stress, thermal expansion, and flexibility
Create and modify P&IDs, plot plans, and equipment layouts in collaboration with process and mechanical engineers
Perform clash detection analysis and resolve spatial conflicts to ensure constructability
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards including ASME, API, and ISO codes
Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and prepare technical documentation including material take-offs
Conduct vendor drawing reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Lead small design packages independently as you progress, presenting designs and incorporating feedback from senior engineers
Ideal Skills and Experience
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related field) (essential)
Basic knowledge of piping design principles and plant layout (desirable)
Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD Plant, E3D, or Navisworks (desirable)
Fluent in English, and Italian - other European languages are useful
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar platforms
Willingness to travel
