Prime is Amazon's premiere membership program, with over 200M members world-wide. This role is at the center of major company decisions that impact Amazon's customers across industries including fast-free shipping, digital content, reading, healthcare, and grocery offerings. Prime Science creates insights that power these decisions. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliCreate statistical tools that embed causal interpretations using massive data, state-of-the-art computing, econometrics (causal, counterfactual/structural, experimentation), and machine learning. /liliDevelop internal-to-Amazon-facing automated scientific data products to inform company decisions and power customer value. /liliProduce insights from descriptive statistics and from novel statistical and econometric models. /liliDraft strategic documents explaining how senior leaders should utilize insights to create sustainable value for customers. /liliCollaborate with a team of economists, applied scientists, data professionals, product managers, and software/data engineers. /liliBuild, estimate, and defend statistical models (e.g., causal, counterfactual, machine-learning) using software such as R, Python, or STATA; learn and apply additional statistical/computational techniques as needed. /liliDemonstrate strong writing and emotional intelligence skills, growth mindset, and the ability to work with ambiguity; engage in on-the-job growth with potential for large, worldwide impact on Prime member experiences. /li /ulh3Basic Qualifications /h3ulliCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in economics or equivalent. /li /ulh3Preferred Qualifications /h3ulliExperience with Python or R /li /ulh3Compensation and Benefits /h3pUSA, WA, Seattle - 129,200.00 - 174,700.00 USD annually.
