Folks Finance is seeking a Junior Backend Developer to join our team. As a Junior Backend Developer, you will collaborate closely with our experienced engineers to develop, optimise and maintain the backend infrastructure of our DeFi products. You will gain hands-on experience with Web3 technologies, blockchain integrations and scalable backend systems that power our decentralized applications.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about blockchain technology and has a mindset geared towards continuous learning and skill growth. The ideal candidate is someone who takes responsibility for their work, is eager to learn new technologies, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities :
* Develop, test and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
* Collaborate with frontend developers and blockchain engineers to ensure seamless integration with smart contracts and web applications.
* Work with databases (SQL and GraphQl) to efficiently store and manage data.
* Assist in debugging and resolving backend issues.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in DeFi, blockchain, and backend technologies.
Requirements :
1. Experience : Minimum of 1 year as a Backend Developer or similar role (can include internships or personal projects).
2. TypeScript : Familiar, ideally with experience in Node.js.
3. Web3 : Basic knowledge of blockchains, DeFi protocols and smart contracts.
4. APIs : Experience working with either RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
5. DevOps : Basic understanding of modern DevOps practices and tools e.g. Docker, CI / CD pipelines.
6. Version Control : Familiar with Git.
7. Education : Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
8. Soft Skills : Strong problem-solving capabilities, excellent communication, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to work in an agile environment.
