Job Description:
BaSE (Buildings and Systems Engineering) is the technical department of UPS responsible for managing buildings and conveyor systems, including maintenance, efficiency, compliance, design, and construction. Our team ensures high maintenance standards across all branches and their facilities to maintain maximum efficiency and reliability, minimize operational downtime, and provide safe and functional work environments. The BaSE department is currently seeking a Supervisor to verify compliance with current regulations at UPS sites in Italy and to develop projects related to new branch openings and environmental sustainability.
Daily activities include:
* Verifying compliance with current regulations (Italian law and internal standards) through inspections;
* Developing corrective actions and collaborating with internal colleagues to implement them;
* Staying updated on regulatory changes, supported by external consultants;
* Periodically checking the validity of internal department contracts;
* Managing projects from development to execution;
* Developing schedules, monitoring costs, and sharing technical specifications;
* Selecting suppliers via tenders or contracted companies, managing and overseeing their work;
* Developing and implementing environmental sustainability projects aligned with UPS's global strategy, evaluating investment returns;
* Managing utilities with a focus on reducing energy consumption.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Technical degree (preferably in engineering or architecture) or equivalent experience;
* Experience in industrial settings with knowledge of facility safety and project management;
* Ability to analyze data and develop action plans;
* Proficiency in English (good level);
* Availability to travel within Italy, a valid driver's license, and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
