We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join the team in Rome.
We are seeking a Software Engineer with a passion for developing cutting-edge software. In this role, you will contribute to improving our software application that monitors the end-to-end operational workflow within the Ground Segment of satellite missions.
This application is critical to the daily operations of various Earth observation missions, ensuring efficient ground-segment production. By joining our team, you will play a key role in advancing technologies that help monitor and protect the health of our planet.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the team to design, develop, test, and document high-quality code.
* Establish and maintain the software build, testing, and documentation infrastructure for mission-critical projects.
* Provide constructive feedback through code reviews, supporting and mentoring team members when necessary.
* Effectively communicate solutions, including technical aspects, to customers and stakeholders.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in software development.
* At least 5 years of practical experience in software development, preferably in requirements-driven projects.
* Strong proficiency in Python; additional familiarity with technologies such as Django, Angular and Grafana is considered a plus.
* Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins).
* Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and hardware virtualization (VMs).
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
* Fluent English; knowledge of Italian is preferred.
* Availability to work on-site at least 2-3 day per week (remote work is possible on the remaining days).
Bonus Skills
* Experience with aerospace engineering standards (e.g., ECSS) is preferred.
* Experience with C++, Java, or C# is preferred.
* A good command of the Italian language is an asset.
