The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.br/br/strongKey Accountabilities /strongbr/ /pollistrongProfessional Specialist: /strongbr/Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts.br/Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs. /lilistrongInspection and Reporting: /strongbr/Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.br/Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys. /lilistrongLeadership and Coordination: /strongbr/Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work.br/Monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors. /lilistrongClient Interaction: /strongbr/Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.br/Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues. /lilistrongTraining and Development: /strongbr/Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors.br/Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team. /lilistrongQuality Assurance: /strongbr/Ensures the maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed. /lilistrongEthical Conduct: /strongbr/Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes. /li /olstrongEducation /strongbr/Master’s Degree in Naval Engineeringbr/br/strongQualifications /strongbr/olliIn general, minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years’ experience in the engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society. /liliUnderstanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the sector of the marine industry. /liliProficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work. /liliAbility to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy. /liliAbility to understand engineering plans and have knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations. /liliAbility, in general, to perform either: /lilistrongNew building surveys: /strongbr/To assess the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building,br/To assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory inspections, tests and trials,br/To issue Certificates, Reports, Records and Status in compliance with rules and regulations. /lilistrongShip in service surveys: /strongbr/To assess that hull, machinery and equipment have been maintained in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory overall inspections, tests and trials,br/To assess and follow-up the repair works to hull, machinery and equipment to assign a new period of class and a new period of validity to statutory Certificates in compliance with rules and regulations by means of overall and close-up inspections, verification upon dismantling, tests and trials (including surveys for Admission to Class of ships in service),br/To attend major conversion works according with rules and regulations,br/To identify the deficiencies to be rectified (if any) and assess whether immediate repair is necessary or a condition may be issued with an appropriate due date,br/To follow-up as required by rules and regulations any repair work or due to previous outstanding conditions,br/To assess whether the deficiencies identified (if any) may be linked with potential failure of the Ship Management System,br/To endorse Certificates, issue Reports and Status in compliance with rules and regulations. /lilistrongMarine Management Systems audits /strong /lilistrongTesting activities and service suppliers/manufacturers certification: /strongbr/To assess the suitability of certified materials and products in compliance with applicable rulesbr/To issue Certificates and prepare Reports and Status in compliance with procedures. /liliKnowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery. /liliKnowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities. /liliKnowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work. /li /olstrongCompetencies /strongbr/olliPROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT -
