This is an exciting opportunity to work across cloud infrastructure, production systems, and engineering teams to build security into every layer of our business.You’ll play a key role in identifying risks, strengthening our security posture, and helping ensure our customers can trust Kong to power their most critical workloads.What You’ll Be DoingDesign, implement, and improve security controls across Kong’s cloud infrastructure and internal systemsPartner closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Platform teams to embed security best practices into development and deployment workflowsMonitor, detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents across cloud and production environmentsPerform security assessments, vulnerability management, and risk analysis across infrastructure and applicationsImprove identity and access management, secrets management, and privileged access controlsSupport compliance initiatives and help maintain security standards across the businessBuild and improve automation for security monitoring, alerting, and remediationHelp define and drive Kong’s long-term security strategy as we continue to scale globallyWhat You’ll BringStrong experience in Security Engineering, Cloud Security, Infrastructure Security, or related areasHands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWSStrong understanding of Linux systems administration and securityExperience securing production environments, distributed systems, and modern SaaS platformsKnowledge of networking fundamentals, IAM, encryption, logging, and security monitoringExperience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practicesFamiliarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with vulnerability management, incident response, and security toolingStrong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar preferred)Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across distributed teamsAbout KongKong Inc., a leading developer of API and AI connectivity technologies, is building the infrastructure that powers the agentic era.
