Role purpose:
2nd Line Operations of Core IMS Networks in a multi-vendor environment. Preventive and corrective second level troubleshooting ensuring quality, continuity of service, and the restoring time for Core IMS Network Elements. Collaborate with 1st Line Operations teams to analyze alarms, detect, and eliminate faults. Perform data configuration, software rollout, and support integration activities with planning and delivery functions.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
* Ensure troubleshooting analysis and repair actions, including vendor escalation, to restore service and performance of Core Network during incidents.
* Perform proactive maintenance to prevent incidents and optimize the network, such as daily walkthroughs and health checks for Core CS components.
* Manage planned work activities, network rollout, software upgrades, and parameter changes in the Core CS network, ensuring quality and avoiding regressions.
* Introduce and manage new technologies, including vendor and on-the-job training.
* Conduct acceptance testing and integration/configuration of new network elements in the Core CS network.
* Share knowledge to enhance the technical skills of deployment and operations teams.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
* Strong understanding of 2G/LTE core network principles: MSS, MGW, SBC, CSCF, TAS, ENUM, VoLTE
* Knowledge of core network protocols: SIGTRAN, ISUP, CAMEL, INAP SIP, Diameter, TCP/UDP, S1AP, GTP/GTPv2, MAP, BSSAP
* Experience in trace analysis using Wireshark, Tektronix, and network element traces
* Basics of NFV framework, VNF technologies, virtualization, protocols like MPLS/IPSEC
* Automation skills using scripting languages/tools (Python, Power Automation, Ansible)
* Unix/Linux OS administration skills
* Team-oriented mindset
* Good communication skills
* Proficiency in English and Italian (spoken and written)
Must-have qualifications:
* Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or Information Technology
* 1-2 years experience in Core Network Operations and Maintenance
* Nokia core network training/certification or equivalent
