AmazonDescriptionThe Reliability Engineering Manager is the site lead for all Engineering matters within a building. They are responsible for leading their team and fostering a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements to provide a safe working environment, providing high equipment availability to the General Manager, and collaborating with the EU Engineering team on future growth planning. They participate in network-wide improvement initiatives and implement established standards across the network.Key job responsibilitiesLead the team, oversee annual reporting, and mentor direct reports to develop technicians.Collaborate with the Safety department and Site Leadership to implement, record, and audit safety and compliance programs, taking legal responsibility as the site engineering lead.Coordinate with the recruitment team to fill headcount with qualified staff, supporting Apprentice and Graduate programs if applicable.Implement standards validated by the EU Engineering team and engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and equipment availability, focusing on preventative maintenance.Maintain contingency plans for equipment failures, conduct rehearsals, and respond flexibly to failures or breakdowns.Work with Site Management, Finance, the EU Engineering team, and internal design teams to plan for future upgrades, growth, or new equipment installations.Basic qualifications5+ years of Engineering team leadership experience or 2+ years in an Amazon engineering team.Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) from an accredited university.Multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical disciplines.Excellent communication skills in English and the local language.Experience with automated equipment such as packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems.Project management experience.Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.Preferred qualificationsChartered Engineer or working towards it.Full knowledge of specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the FC, including maintenance and safety procedures.Experience working with PLC-based control systems.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity.
