PpThe Site WHS officer will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in a Delivery Station to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. /p pThe Site WHS officer must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The Site WHS officer must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. /p pThis individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. The Site WHS officer will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company safety policies. The Site WHS officer will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations. /p pThe Site WHS officer will be responsible to lead a safety team members: Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinators, Onsite first aid Associates. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for their Safety Associates on their team. They must communicate safety team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback to their safety teams and ensure they are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon safety professional. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liAs WHS Officer, You will support an assigned site(s), coordinate and assist in the implementation of Amazon WHS procedures and programs as directed by WHS leadership, in alignment with policy and site goals. /li liYou will partner with the site stakeholders to drive compliance with relevant Amazon WHS standards, procedures and applicable local laws. /li liYou will play vital role in coaching associates on new and existing WHS requirements, including their impact on the site. /li liYou will partner with site operations and WHS leadership on tackling day to day risks, identify and elevate compliance risks and improvement opportunities through the completion of assigned routine inspections and audits. /li liYou will act as the proxy for the WHS Manager when assigned. /li liYou will fulfill the assigned tasks within this standard work as allocated by the WHS Manager, including additional tasks as stretch assignment. /li liYou must adhere to the scheduled shift in order to support site safety. /li /ul h3A day in the life /h3 ul liDaily Deep Dive of metrics /li liSite safety audit / inspections /li liIncident reporting and investigation /li liTraining, TBT, FGDs /li liStandup at site /li liAWHS committee meeting /li liCommunication on required safety matters /li liSafety compliance adherence with respect to Amazon WHS Policies and procedures /li liPPE issuance and compliance /li liRisk Assessment /li liInventory management and procurement of safety supplies. /li /ul h3About the team /h3 pWorkplace, Health Safety - Amazon Last Mile India /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree or equivalent /li liExperience in safety, environmental, or equivalent, or 3+ years of distribution or manufacturing field 2+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience. /li liExperience in reputed private or government organizations /li liExperience managing multiple direct reports. /li liMust be flexible regarding shifts. /li liExperience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster's degree or equivalent /li liFulfillment Center or Manufacturing Safety experience with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 200 people preferred. /li liExperience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization /li liGovernment Certified Safety Professional preferred /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders. /li liAbility to develop and implement department goals and strategies. /li liStrong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. /li liAbility to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy /li /ul pOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
