Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY Develop and optimize mechanical design of the disposables components and systems for TransMedics' Organ Care System (OCS™) using advanced CAD modeling. Design products and solutions, and verify them through appropriate simulation tools and testing, defining and executing the appropriate test protocols. Design components of TransMedics' Organ Care System (OCS™) while taking care of all the aspects related to the mechanical design and the manufacturability of the system and subsystems. This specialized role focuses on ensuring optimal product design and manufacturability through engineering analysis. RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Responsible for product design, transforming ideas into concept design and defining technical solutions of Transmedics products Perform CAD design and FEM simulations to analyze and optimize the components Oversee the overall picture of the entire device and coordinates the activities of internal and external CAD designers Design components and systems for optimal product design and manufacturability using advanced CAD tools Analyze the key parameters impacting the performances of the devices and the manufacturing properties in general Develop and validate computational models for organ perfusion systems Collaborate with other engineers to incorporate CAD and FEM analysis results into product designs Support verification testing and correlate with simulation results Document simulation methodologies and results for design history files Develop design recommendations based on CAD-FEM analysis outcomes Design the components and the final products with a keen eye on the details impacting the critical characteristics of the device and the manufacturability Perform other TransMedics tasks and duties as assigned/required. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES This position will not have management responsibilities. PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES Standard engineering working environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field or high school diploma with extensive experience in the same role 15 years experience with CAD and FEM simulation for medical devices or similar applications Strong CAD modeling skills (SolidWorks is preferred) Knowledge of subsystems used in medical devices Experience validating CAD models with experimental data Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication skills in English; Italian language skills preferred Ability to work in an international environment Highly motivated to enhance the products, the techniques and consequently the life of the patients Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; Willingness to relocate to Mirandola, Italy Every Organ Wasted is a Life Not Saved.
