Work requires independent judgment in managing multiple priorities and coordinating work activities to meet schedules and goals. Duties include: /polliGIS system and database design, creation, and maintenance /liliProject coordination /liliClient services /liliGeo-spatial product production /liliUnmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations /li /olpWorkload ranges from moderate to heavy, serving the Tribal-wide scope and potentially other tribal, state, and federal agencies, and the public. The environment is hierarchical, similar to tribal, federal, or state agencies, or the military. This role reports directly to the Tribe's IT / GIS Manager and involves work in office, outdoor, and vehicle settings, sometimes in remote areas. Field duties may include GPS and UAS equipment use, with occasional lifting of equipment up to 70 lbs. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliCoordinate technical GIS projects, plan and organize work, report progress, and recommend changes /liliDesign, create, and maintain the Tribe’s Enterprise GIS System, data, and software /liliAssist in data backup and security measures /liliManage enterprise GIS databases, including SQL Server and GIS-specific file databases /liliDefine, assess, and procure new data /liliPerform advanced raster and vector GIS analysis /liliCreate cartographic maps, reports, imagery, and GIS products /liliDevelop project-specific GIS applications and processes /liliImplement quality control measures /liliProvide technical support to GIS staff and other departments /liliDevelop and conduct GIS training sessions and present at workshops /liliEvaluate new GIS technologies /liliManage the Tribe’s UAS Program, including hardware, software, flight planning, and imagery processing /li /ulpAdditional duties include assisting with GIS product recommendations, staff evaluation, professional development, grant management, supervision, and other tasks as assigned. /ph3Qualifications /h3ulliSupport the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s vision, mission, and values /liliComply with health policies, including annual flu shot /liliBachelor’s degree in GIS or related field plus at least four years’ GIS and database management experience; or a total of at least six years’ relevant experience and education /liliProficiency with Microsoft Windows Server and desktop OS /liliKnowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Esri Geodatabase, ArcGIS data models, and programming languages (Microsoft .NET, SQL, Python, HTML, JavaScript) /liliExperience with GIS peripherals, desktop software, enterprise server software, mobile applications, and remote sensing /liliExperience with UAVs, including flight planning, imagery processing, and FAA regulations, with ability to obtain FAA Part 107 license /liliKnowledge of habitat conservation, land management, and GIS applications in natural resources /liliStrong research, presentation, problem-solving, and multi-project management skills /li /ulpApplicants may undergo interviews and hands-on testing.
