With a global footprint and a commitment to innovation, we are currently seeking a highly motivated Cost Engineer.MissionAs a Cost Engineer, you will drive Nidec's cost excellence by providing reliable and precise data to support make vs buy strategic and tactical decisions for Automotive (AMEC) and Appliance (ACIM) in different countries. You will partner with buyers, operations and logistic specialists of both BUs, to shape a proposal of make vs buy strategy for different manufacturing processes/components/countries and ensure Nidec's competitiveness.Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with operations, logistics and be the reference point for procurement in the prioritization of make vs buy decisions/analysisBecome the leader of the make vs buy team for all costs analyses by taking a super-functional view, beyond the procurement scope to drive best decisions based on detailed cost analysesLead detailed cost analyses for all manufacturing process and cost driversCollect supplier quotations and Nidec's plants quotations and analyze manufacturing process details and cost drivers vs the should costPartner with R&D and logistics to include packaging, transport, duties costsCollect data for Capex and Opex and define immobilized capitals and warehouse costsOrganize and lead frequent alignment meetings with main actors for each of the cost analysis and prepare clear summaries and recommendations for the leadership to take proper strategic decisions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Process Engineering is preferred, other backgrounds are acceptableDeep knowledge of at least one of the main make manufacturing process for Nidec (aluminum die casting, lamination stamping, iron casting, machining, metal stamping) with ability to verify correctness of manufacturing process parameters and challenge them is a mustKnowledge of cost drivers, cost structures and main financial conceptsEnglish fluent (speaking, writing and reading)

Analytical skills, precision and curiosityDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management capabilities, able to manage multiple projects concurrentlyAble to work in cross-functional teams and influence without direct authorityGood communication skills with all organizational levels
