Principe di Salina is a boutique hotel in Malfa, on the island of Salina (Aeolian Islands, Sicily). We bring people together around beauty, warmth, and a sense of home — always within a stunning natural landscape with sea views and private spaces.

Inspired by Sicilian tradition and a family spirit of hospitality, Principe di Salina blends local craftsmanship with an international touch. Our guests are mostly international leisure travelers (primarily English-speaking) who choose us for the atmosphere, the details, and above all the care: service at Principe di Salina is personal, calm, discreet, and consistently outstanding.

We are now looking to build a highly dedicated seasonal team to deliver the guest experience to its highest potential.

Job Description

The Guest Experience Host / Receptionist efficiently manages hotel reservations and guest communication using our PMS/booking tools and OTA platforms. This role requires exceptional organizational skills to coordinate bookings, handle emails and phone communication, and support smooth front desk operations.

The Guest Experience Host / Receptionist plays a key role in delivering Principe di Salina's outstanding service standards: anticipating guest needs, coordinating with all departments, and ensuring every guest feels genuinely cared for throughout their stay. The ideal candidate is calm, patient, extra attentive, and comfortable working within clear service standards and direction.

The role reports to Hotel Management / Ownership and works closely with all departments.

Responsability

Reservation Management

* Process hotel reservations accurately and efficiently via telephone, email and/or in person in a friendly and professional manner following Principe di Salina's service standards.
* Manage reservations using PMS/booking tools and OTA platforms; update availability, rates, guest profiles and booking notes with strong attention to detail.
* Maintain accurate records of reservations and guest information (preferences, allergies, arrival times, special occasions).
* Collaborate with housekeeping, bar & restaurant, maintenance and management to ensure seamless coordination of guest services and arrivals.

Customer Interaction

* Provide information about hotel services, responding to inquiries and special requests with warmth, patience, discretion and a solution-oriented mindset.
* Support check-in/check-out and front desk operations, ensuring a calm and welcoming atmosphere at all times.
* Assist with concierge-style requests (transfers, boat tours, wine tastings, rentals, island recommendations), ensuring excellent follow-through and guest satisfaction.

Sales and Upselling

* Contribute to revenue growth by meeting or exceeding upselling targets, promoting hotel services and experiences in a natural, guest-first way.

Requirments

* Experience in hospitality reception / guest relations.
* Boutique hotel or 5-star hotel experience is a strong plus.
* Proficient with hotel reservation systems (PMS/booking engine) and OTA platforms (or strong ability to learn quickly).
* Strong organizational skills for effective booking and guest management.
* Excellent communication abilities for guest interactions via email and phone (warm, clear, professional).
* Collaborative mindset to work across departments for guest satisfaction.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, timing, and service consistency.
* Fluency in English and Italian; additional languages are a plus.
* Flexibility during peak operational periods.
* No night shifts; flexible daytime schedule (mostly afternoons + some mornings).
* A naturally service-first attitude: calm, patient, humble, receptive to feedback, and extra caring.
