Purpose
Oncology MSL is a pivotal field‑based role that connects GSK to the healthcare community. This non‑promotional, customer‑facing position focuses on advancing clinical practice within an assigned territory to improve patient outcomes. The MSL brings deep clinical and oncology therapeutic expertise and market knowledge to engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and account personnel, in alignment with GSK’s medical strategies and plans.
Key accountabilities
* Leverage scientific expertise and market knowledge to identify and engage HCPs who have educational needs and can provide insights needed to inform medical plans.
* Engage with HCPs on emerging data, clinical trials, medical unmet needs, patient barriers to access, market dynamics, and educate on disease state and product information.
* Contribute to medical strategy by collecting and communicating medical insights throughout the product lifecycle.
* Demonstrate strategic territory planning and management, identifying and mapping scientific engagements in the territory with key accounts.
* Support clinical trials by facilitating relevant medical activities and collaborating with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations colleagues.
* Collaborate with internal colleagues to ensure a customer‑centric approach aligned with GSK Standard Operating Procedures.
* Understand and address the unique medical needs and attributes of accounts (educational needs, pathways).
* Maintain in‑depth knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and GSK medicines to serve as a medical resource.
* Adhere to GSK’s Code of Conduct, policies and standards, ensuring all activities are conducted in a compliant manner.
* Execute all administrative responsibilities, training, and documentation requirements in a timely manner.
* Participate in Field Medical and cross‑enterprise projects and teams that support medical strategies and tactics.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
* Must reside within territory for consideration.
* Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, PhD, MD) or MS‑advanced science/clinical/healthcare related degree with relevant clinical, industry and/or oncology experience (MSN, ANP, MS, MPH).
* Oncology experience, pharmaceutical industry, and Medical Liaison/Advisor experience.
* 2+ years’ experience in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans with practical application in an oncology‑focused clinical setting.
* Experience engaging in peer‑to‑peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals and decision makers.
* Experience delivering medical‑based presentations.
* Experience identifying opportunities for medical engagement and developing scientific engagement goals.
* Experience developing relationships with external HCPs, KOLs, internal stakeholders and key decision makers.
* Ability to manage a multi‑state territory with 60‑75% travel.
* Fluent English and Italian (written and spoken). Excellent scientific written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
* Previous clinical experience where direct or indirect decision‑making authority for patient care was demonstrated.
* Proven track record of consistent, high performance.
* Above average computer literacy, including experience with software applications.
Strong analytical and strategic capabilities
* Ability to analyze complex clinical and real‑world data and distil actionable medical insights to inform strategy and decision‑making.
* Data‑driven insight extraction: translate heterogeneous data (clinical trials, RWE, literature, HCP feedback) into clear, evidence‑based recommendations.
* Advanced analytics and insight synthesis: interpret statistical outputs and convert findings into pragmatic clinical and access implications.
* Clinical insight generation: synthesize scientific and market evidence to identify unmet needs, therapeutic gaps and opportunities.
* Strategic medical insight lead: convert medical and market intelligence into prioritized, actionable insights that shape local and global medical plans.
* Insight storytelling: synthesize complex data into concise, compelling narratives to influence cross‑functional stakeholders.

Salary
Annual gross base salary range for new hires: EUR 72,675 to EUR 121,125. Additional benefits may include an annual bonus and eligibility for a share‑based long‑term incentive program.
