/p h3About The Opportunity /h3 pAmentum is leading a joint venture (JV) delivering a Framework Contract for the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC), providing intellectual support services to the nuclear decommissioning programme across multiple European sites.
The JV supports JRC in accelerating decommissioning and waste management activities through provision of technical and programme support services, including: /p ul liProject and programme management /li liLicensing /li liRadioactive waste management /li liRadiation protection /li liDecommissioning and nuclear engineering /li liWorksite management and safety /li liNon-nuclear engineering /li liFacility supervision and quality assurance /li /ul h3Role Overview /h3 pFor the JRC Ispra site (Northern Italy), we are seeking Waste Managers / Radioactive Waste Specialists across multiple experience levels.
The role supports JRC in the management of radioactive waste across the decommissioning programme, including waste characterisation, treatment, storage, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
This is a client-facing position, providing technical and operational support services rather than direct execution of waste handling activities.
/p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport the development and implementation of radioactive waste management strategies, including: ul liwaste classification, characterisation and inventory management /li litreatment, conditioning, storage and disposal pathways /li lialignment with regulatory and site-specific requirements /li /ul /li liProvide technical support to JRC waste management activities, including: ul lisupervision and coordination of waste retrieval, treatment and conditioning operations /li liassessment of waste management facilities and processes /li lireview and update of waste management procedures and systems /li /ul /li liSupport preparation and review of technical documentation, including: /li ul liwaste management plans and procedures /li liwaste acceptance criteria (WAC) and compliance documentation /li liinventory records and reporting documentation /li /ul liContribute to waste tracking and data management, including: ul limaintenance and verification of waste inventories /li lisupport to waste information systems and reporting tools /li /ul /li liCoordinate interfaces with related disciplines, including: /li ul lidecommissioning activities (waste generation and flows) /li liradiation protection /li lilicensing and regulatory compliance /li /ul liSupport JRC in ensuring compliance with: ul linational and European regulations /li lisite licence conditions and waste acceptance requirements /li /ul /li liContribute to programme reporting and governance, including: ul liKPI tracking related to waste management /li liidentification and management of risks and issues /li liinput to structured reporting and technical reviews /li /ul /li liOperate within a multi-stakeholder environment, supporting coordination between: ul liJRC (client) /li liJV partners /li lisubcontractors and waste management operators /li /ul /li /ul h3Level and Experience Alignment /h3 pThis role is open to candidates across different experience levels.
