We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to be hired with a permanent contract in Milan within the Service Execution team in Italy. Responsibilities
* Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Factory Automation systems, including SIMATIC PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial PCs
* Execution of on-site service activities at OEMs and end customers (machine builders and production plants)
* Management and execution of retrofit and modernization projects for machines and automation systems
* Software development and modification using STEP 7 and TIA Portal
* Configuration and tuning of drive systems (e.g. SINAMICS) and motion control applications
* Support to machine commissioning, optimization, and performance improvement
* Integration of systems within digitalization frameworks (e.g. connectivity, data acquisition, basic IIoT concepts)
* Technical support to customers, hotline, and back-office teams
* Coordination with internal departments (engineering, sales, project management) and external partners
* Preparation of technical documentation, service reports, and customer communication in line with Siemens standards
Qualifications
* Degree in Automation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
* Experience (or strong willingness to grow) in Field Service, Automation engineering, Machine/production line commissioning
* Knowledge of SIMATIC PLCs (S7-300 / S7-1500), STEP 7, TIA Portal; HMI systems and industrial communication networks; drive technology (SINAMICS, Startdrive/Starter)
* Experience with machine automation, OEM environments, or discrete manufacturing is a strong plus
* Experience with Motion Control or CNC systems (e.g. SINUMERIK) is a plus
* Ability to work independently and in teams, managing priorities and customer expectations
* Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
* Willingness to travel for on-site activities (national and potentially international)
* English and Italian proficiency
* Passion to never-stop growing
