About this role
As a Financial Controller, you play a vital role in our Finance department by ensuring the reliability of information for our global stakeholders. Joining a collaborative team, you will lead by driving excellence in financial reporting while caring for the quality of our country and consolidated numbers. You will deliver results by overseeing financial operations and monitoring internal controls to help us stay one step ahead.
Location: Madrid, Spain or Milan, Italy (Hybrid)
These are some of the key components to the position:
* Oversee financial operations for country and group results by reviewing Global Finance Operations (GFO) output.
* Drive the Month End Close (MEC) process through critical analysis of consolidated financial data.
* Act as a key communication channel between Global Finance Operations (GFO), group finance, and local business partners.
* Ensure consistent application of the Group Accounting Manual (International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS) and local policies.
* Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams for tax audits and statutory reporting requirements.
* Monitor financial reporting processes and implement proactive recommendations for procedural improvements.
* Prepare audit position papers and oversee the delivery of high‑quality reporting to all stakeholders.
What will you bring to the team?
* Background in audit or financial controlling within a large, listed multinational environment.
* Professional knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). Experience with other GAAPs such as Spanish or Italian GAAP is an advantage.
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
* Fluent in English (Italian or Spanish is a plus).
* Technical proficiency with finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and consolidation tools.
* A proactive "helicopter view" to anticipate accounting implications and manage complex topics independently.
* Resilience and a team‑player attitude, staying composed while meeting tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
