RINA is currently recruiting for a Geohazard Consultant to join its office in Genoa or Milan, Italy within the Environmental and Engineering Geoscience Division.
Mission
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsible for their technical duties, capable of working autonomously and under supervision, executing projects within the discipline, and interfacing and coordinating with peers. You will work on challenging offshore and onshore projects, collating, processing, and interpreting data. Working as part of a global team, you are expected to achieve outstanding results in a demanding and ever-changing business environment.
Key Accountabilities
* Perform marine geophysical data interpretation and technical reporting under general supervision.
* Interpret, validate, and assimilate various geophysical (MBES, SSS, SBPs including 3D and 2D sections), geotechnical, and geological data accurately.
* Conduct geohazard and risk assessment analyses.
* Integrate data for ground modeling assessment.
* Knowledge of seismic data inversion (e.g., Python) is a plus.
* Present interpretation results, generate quality maps and illustrations, and write technical reports.
* Fluent in English speaking and writing.
* Occasional offshore work on geophysical vessels may be required. #LI-MT3
Education
Master’s Degree in Geology or Physics; Doctorate/PHD preferred.
Qualifications
* 3-5 years of experience in geophysical survey and reporting for Oil & Gas and/or Wind Farm industries.
* Experience with software packages like IHS Kingdom, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, SonarWiz, etc.
* Ability to work well independently and in teams, showing initiative and resourcefulness.
* Capacity to manage multiple projects under deadlines and pressure.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Willingness to travel worldwide for short to mid-term assignments and work offshore occasionally.
* Experience in geophysical data acquisition and processing is advantageous.
