The quality engineer will be responsible for the following activities: - To ensure the correct use of the tools available (such as: NCR, Claims Management, Audit checklists, etc.) and the consistency of the reported data and KPIs. To maintain and continuously update the local Quality Management System (in alignment with the Group PQMS). This includes: o Continuously verify the adequacy of the defined rules versus the described processes. o Revise and update the rules in strict collaboration with the owner of the described process, helping in driving such processes (follow up of KPIs, process review, etc.) o Periodically verify the compliance of the processes to the defined rules through the execution of dedicated audits. - To analyze internal and external issues data and manage the Quality Continuous Improvement projects portfolio. This includes: o Collect relevant data through the available tools and analyze it. o Prepare the quality improvement project proposals and coordinate planning and priorities with the Plant Director, BU Quality Manager and Operations team. o Establish regular follow up activities aimed at ensuring proper project execution. - To actively support local team in the 6S program when the factory will be involved in the project, taking the lead in the assigned areas. To plan and conduct internal process quality audits (Validation and Quick Process Audits) in an accurate and timely manner. This includes: o Critically analyze internal quality KPIs to identify areas of improvement. o Carry out the auditing activity by objectively assessing the status of the factory and its processes. o Communicate effectively the findings, provide applicable solutions and/or recommendations whenever necessary and follow up the corrective action plan to ensure an effective and timely implementation of the agreed actions. - To manage all Supplier Quality related activities. This includes: o Execute production process audit at suppliers’ premises (homologation, periodical validation or in case of poor performances). o Plan, coordinate and execute all activities relevant to supplier production processes improvement (FMEA analysis, development programs). o Monitor suppliers’ performances with the aim of identifying potentially critical situations on which activate corrective actions plans o Define suppliers’ strategy in collaboration with purchasing department. - To support the Plant Quality Manager for customer audits or inspections, managing the related documentation. This includes: o Review of customer’s specification and preparation of a formalized list of tests for review and approval by the customer. o Prepare inspection plans based on the ITP. o Collect test records for the inspection reports. o Assist customers during the visit. - To collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and other relevant functions in the process of products’ type approvals. To manage resources (human & material) and ensure an optimal organization. To manage the final test laboratory, guaranteeing the correct execution of the required tests. This includes: o Manage the resources guaranteeing maximum level of health and safety procedures. o Define the test plan in line with international standards, Customer request and Group control standard. o Maintain and improve the test equipment. o Issue the test certificate. o Manage any non compliances in accordance with Group rules and Customer requirements. Skills and competencies: Engineering degree strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of quality management system international standards: ISO9001 mandatory, additional standards desirable. Good knowledge and experience in the use of basic quality tools for analysis and problem solving (e.g. Pareto charts, Cause and effect diagrams, 5why’s, Run charts, etc.). Basic knowledge of the 6S and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Very good communication, negotiation and team working skills. Ability to understand the context of the work environment and react with flexibility to the needs of the actual situation. Ability to identify potential problems, either technical or procedural, propose solutions and involve other colleagues in developing these solutions when necessary. Good use of MS Excel for data analysis (e.g. Pivot tables) and good understanding of SAP. Accuracy and proactiveness.
