Alfa Laval is seeking a Software Developer for Control Systems to join our global Automation Development team. You’ll play a crucial role in advancing our control systems and contributing to our mission of achieving autonomous operation for our core products. What you will do
As a Software Developer for Control Systems at Alfa Laval you will be engaged in a dynamic Agile environment throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:
* Software engineering on PLC and HMI platform for Alfa Laval products including feature breakdown, task specification, programming, testing, documentation, source code management, deployment and issue tracking.
* Web-based HMI development using our design language.
* Establishing global automation standards for the platforms we use through cross-site collaboration.
* Working in sprints as part of a self-organizing team contributing to the evolution of our products.
* Maintaining previously released PLC/HMI software.
Your Background & Experience
A university degree, preferably a Masters or Bachelors, in one of the following fields:
* Mechatronics / Control & Automation / Embedded Systems / Industrial Automation / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation & Control / Computer systems or a related field.
Must Have
* Extensive experience in PLC software development using IEC 61131-3 languages (ST, FBD, etc.) and/ or experience with embedded systems.
* More than 1 year of work experience in software development and standardization with PLC platforms and/or embedded systems.
* Proficiency with configuring and programming VFDs.
* Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus, and OPC-UA.
* Experience with B&R / Siemens / Allen-Bradley PLC platforms.
* Experience in reading and understanding P&ID / Electrical drawings / FDS.
* Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A customer-focused mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Good to Have
* Knowledge of Software Development Models & Methods (OOP, S88, PackML).
* Knowledge or experience in developing web-based HMI screens with basic knowledge of HTML.
