SMS group is looking for a Senior Buyer with solid experience in strategic purchasing of electrical equipment and industrial automation systems, to strengthen its procurement team and support the development of innovative solutions in the plant engineering sector. Responsibilities Strategic management of procurement processes for electrical components, control panels, and automation systems; Identification and qualification of new suppliers, including participation in technical audits and evaluation processes; Negotiation of contractual terms and drafting of globally valid supply agreements; Collaboration with technical and engineering teams to ensure alignment between technical specifications and purchasing solutions; Definition and implementation of sourcing strategies for assigned material groups; Monitoring supplier performance and implementing improvement plans; Cost analysis and benchmarking of relevant market opportunities; Development and execution of cost reduction programs and purchasing process optimization; Support in reporting and monitoring of the “Performance and Profitability” program. Requirements Preferred Degree in electrical engineering, automation, industrial engineering, or economics; Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic purchasing within industrial environments, with a focus on electrical and automation components; Good Knowledge of purchasing contractual and commercial terms; Knowledge of electrical technologies and industrial automation systems; Ability to read and understand technical specifications; Strong focus on targets, processes, and quality; Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills; Preferred knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems) and digital procurement tools; Excellent knowledge of IT tools (MS package) Fluent in written and spoken English; Availability to travel internationally.
