Location: 300 Dewey Street, Argos, Indiana 46501
The Production Packaging Associate is an entry level position, responsible for proper packaging of materials and finished products. The role also includes loading, moving material, and operating packaging equipment, and following Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies.
Demonstrate punctuality and adhere to the work schedule.
Work effectively with others, showing a teamwork attitude.
Adhere to company General Manufacturing Policies.
Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.
Monitor conveyor belts and clear bottle jams from lines.
Collect dropped bottles from the production floor and place them into designated bins.
Place discarded bottles into a grinder, if applicable.
Inspect the quality of bottles during production, packaging, and labeling.
Perform bottle drop tests on designated lines.
Escalate any bottle abnormalities, defects, or quality issues immediately.
Monitor packaging material supply levels and replenish as needed.
Ensure correct labeling, bottle description, and packaging of product in accordance with customer requirements.
Move finished goods to the designated area.
Set up and organize workstations efficiently, maintain inventory levels, and restock supplies between shifts.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Tasks may differ by plant based on equipment and design.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements for the job include:
Basic mathematical skills.
Basic computer experience.
Education
Prefer High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Training
Completion of Altium Production/Packaging Associate I training within 90 days of hire.
Physical Demands
Employees must frequently stand, walk, use hands to grasp and handle, reach over and below with hands and arms, occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Lifting, pushing, pulling, or moving up to 50 pounds is required.
Work Environment
The work environment includes moving mechanical parts, frequent noise, temperature fluctuations, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
