The company headquarters is located in Bolzano, Northern Italy, at the plant formerly owned by Lancia, a renowned manufacturer of industrial vehicles founded in 1937 and incorporated into the Iveco Group in 1975.
IDV boasts an independent internal structure entirely dedicated to research and development, with full access to the company's extensive engineering resources.
Primary Function
As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will ensure that all supplied components are aligned with IDV's quality standards and customer requirements. You will work closely with suppliers to manage and improve their processes, to guarantee logistics and quality issues and support new product launches.
Key Responsibilities
* Guarantee the quality of components delivered to IDV plant.
* Manage suppliers to meet quality expectations and drive improvement actions.
* Organize and lead quality meetings with suppliers at plant level.
* Initiate and escalate CSL issues and follow up on corrective actions.
* Review and report on supplier performance and quality status.
* Ensure APQP compliance and oversee supplier PPAPs for changes and new products.
* Evaluate new supplier to be elected for new business assignment
* Visiting the supplier to run a process audit according to ISO and AQAP stardad
* Support safe launch plans for new products.
Requirements
* University degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
* Fluent Italian and English.
* 3+ years of experience as supplier quality in automotive sector (preferred).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and meet plant targets.
The Supplier Quality Specialist (SQE) evaluates supplier competencies, tooling, equipment, facilities and processes. He/She will highlight supplier weaknesses and then identify, evaluate and implement recommendations to improve supplier systems, products and processes.
The role of SQE is to plan the activities correctly analyzing and prioritizing business requirements in synergy with other IDV departments. He/She will evaluate Supplier's operations directly in Supplier premises or remotely. Develop, lead action plan and follow-up them. Finally, he/she has to grant and monitor the benefits coming from action put in place.
Candidate is expected to have deep knowledge in industrial design/production, solid experience in using industrial quality tools (APQP - Advanced Product Quality Planning, PPAP - Production Part Approval Process, international standards
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the global product development process for new products and ensure that suppliers meet IDV requirements. Acting with Purchasing and platform about sourcing strategies and their implementation process definition, particularly on initial assessment (Potential Supplier Assessment) and ensure that suppliers meet IDV requirements per APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) and Part Approval Process.
* Perform at supplier Process Control Plan Audit (PCPA) and Part Approval Process.
* Support current product quality management activities. xrdztoy
* Grant extensive and deep usage of problem solving techniques at suppliers (8D, Ishikawa, pareto diagram etc.).
* Assure proper non conformity containment tools application and effective corrective actions to achieve stable supplier conformity.
* Support suppliers and engineering/quality team in developing technical solutions to fix quality/product issues in field and/or during development process
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
GENERAL BACKGROUND:
* Previous job experience in following fields: Process /supplier Quality (mandatory)
* General knowledge of key industrial manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembling, ...)
SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS:
* Strong technical understanding of systems influencing vehicle behavior (suspension systems, steering systems, breaking systems, wheel &tire interfaces, chassis & structural components)
* General knowledge of metal-rubber-plastic components designs or assembly process (vehicle interior and exterior parts, tanks, air ducts, interior panels and trims, hoods, tailgates, profiles, guides)
SPECIFIC QUALITY SKILLS:
* Knowledge of quality tools (APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PCPA/PSA, (Process control plan audit/ Potential Supplier Assessment), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), etc.), international standards, international Agency standards (ISO)
* Problem solving techniques (8D, Ishikawa, pareto diagram etc.).
EDUCATION:
* Degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical background)
