Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Commodity Manager. The objective of the position is to lead sourcing activities for electronic components and systems, as well as developing and executing global or regional sourcing strategies for assigned production material commodities.
Your responsibilities will be:
Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management:
1. Manage and implement purchasing strategies for electronic components and systems
2. Develop and implement with a team of commodity managers long-term commodity strategies aligned with business, cost, quality, and risk objectives
3. Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting for production materials
4. Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions
5. Monitor market trends, raw material indices, and supply risks
Leadership & People Management:
6. Lead, coach, and develop a team of commodity managers and buyers
7. Set objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations
8. Foster a high-performance and continuous-improvement-oriented culture
9. Supplier & Stakeholder Management:
10. Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers
11. Lead supplier performance management (quality, delivery, cost, innovation, sustainability)
12. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams
Operational Excellence:
13. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements
14. Support new product introductions by ensuring sourcing readiness
Financial & Risk Management:
15. Manage commodity budgets and contribute to annual cost-saving targets
16. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
To be successful in this role you'll need to have:
17. Bachelor's degree in Engineering Supply Chain, Business, or related field
18. Master's degree preferred
19. 10+ years in purchasing, strategic sourcing, or commodity management in an international environment
20. Extensive experience in electronic components and systems
21. Experience in manufacturing or industrial contexts
22. Proven experience in leading and developing teams
23. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools
24. Excellent negotiation capabilities
25. Strong supplier management and cross-functional collaboration skills
26. Fluency in Italian and English
Nice to have:
27. Experience in value engineering or TCO optimization initiatives
28. Background in electronic manufacturing or industrial supply chains
