This position requires an individual with previous employee and labor relations experience, subject matter knowledge, and strong communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be able to work successfully on a broad spectrum of employee relations and site support issues and projects.
This role must be located in CDMX or EDOMEX.
The position supports Mexico Operations. The central objective of Amazon’s employee relations team is to ensure our organization’s treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and aligned with our core business values and objectives. This role will focus on site support activities that enhance local and network employee relations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Collect and analyze feedback from associates and managers through data analysis and site visits;
* Partner with site leadership and HR to identify and improve employee experience, communication practices, and continuous improvement initiatives;
* Analyze, diagnose, and audit people programs, policies, and practices to maintain positive employee relations;
* Prepare assessment reports with observations and analysis for senior leadership;
* Conduct employee relations training sessions;
* Oversee employee relations and vulnerability assessment programs;
* Act proactively and innovatively, not satisfied with just "checking the box";
* Act with urgency and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The role may require reactive work on critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented and time-sensitive.
The position reports to the Mexico Employee Relations Head of Country within the Operations HR group. It is a full-time role requiring significant travel, approximately 50-60% annually.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree completed;
* 5+ years of experience in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, or employment law, focusing on labor and employee relations;
* Experience in retail, manufacturing, distribution, or call center environments with hourly employees;
* Knowledge of Federal Labor Law;
* Experience in identifying and mitigating labor risks;
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint;
* Proficiency in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Advanced degree, JD, or specialized training in labor/employee relations;
* Experience working in unionized settings;
* Experience in designing and delivering training programs;
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and public speaking abilities;
* Interpersonal and persuasion skills to work effectively with senior leaders and across teams;
* Ability to handle confidential information professionally;
* Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills;
* Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.
