Project Overview
We are supporting a
major data centre sub‑station development in Milan
and are seeking an experienced
Freelance Senior HSE Advisor
to join the project team on a long‑term contract basis.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of
Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance across all phases of the project. This is a
site‑based role, five days per week
, and
previous data centre construction experience is essential
. ✅ Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all
HSE activities
on site
Ensure compliance with
Italian HSE legislation
, client standards and project requirements
Develop, implement and maintain
HSE plans, risk assessments and method statements
Carry out regular
site inspections, audits and toolbox talks
Monitor contractor and subcontractor HSE performance and drive continuous improvement
Support
incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
Act as the primary
HSE point of contact
for the client, construction teams and contractors
Promote a strong
safety‑first culture
across the project
Provide HSE input during
planning, construction and commissioning
phases
Prepare and submit
regular HSE reports
to senior stakeholders
Requirements
Proven experience as a
Senior HSE Advisor on data centre projects
(essential) Strong background in
sub‑station, power or critical infrastructure projects
In‑depth knowledge of
Italian HSE regulations and legislation
Relevant HSE qualifications (e.G.
NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent ) Fluent in Italian and English
(spoken and written) Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
Ability to work
independently
on a complex, live construction site
Available for a
minimum 2‑year freelance contract
