You will work directly with our Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams regionally and globally, leading projects to fit out data centers to meet evolving customer needs as we continue expanding our fleet to hyper‑scale. /ppThe Colo Regional Engineer is the engineering representative on behalf of the Data Center Field Engineering Team responsible for the successful delivery of projects. In this role, you will assist in data center site selection, planning and development, evaluating different mechanical and electrical systems and making data‑driven decisions about suitable solutions based on our guidelines. /ph3Key job responsibilities /h3ulliWork with colo vendors to review the design for new data centers in your region, including design input, submittal review and incorporating AWS products to ensure the design meets AWS expectations. /liliAct as resident engineer during new colo construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and handover. /liliTroubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and create corrective action (CA) documentation for site or equipment failures. /liliDirectly support operational issues with ad‑hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support. /liliProvide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency. /liliSupport operating partners to lead, review, and approve designs for existing co‑location data center upgrades that improve availability and efficiency. /liliInterface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered by operating partners. /liliWork on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions. /liliInitiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers, produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediation actions. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliStrong technical problem‑solving skills. /liliProficiency in engineering design and analysis. /liliExperience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities. /liliExperience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities. /liliBachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field. /liliSpecialized experience in data center design and critical infrastructure. /liliComprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. /liliFamiliarity with regional building codes and regulations. /liliHands‑on experience with mission‑critical facility design and maintenance. /liliProven track record as a resident engineer or design consultant. /li /ulpAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
