About the Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. You will play a key role in architectural decisions, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and help shape the technical direction of our platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
* Build scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems.
* Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and system design.
* Ensure applications meet non‑functional requirements including performance, scalability,, and security.
* Apply secure coding practices and support cybersecurity principles.
* Work within Linux environments and containerised platforms.
* Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, SDLC automation, and DevSecOps practices.
* Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, QA, product, and security teams.
* Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
* Identify improvement opportunities and proactively drive solutions.
* Support systems handling large data volumes and high‑throughput workloads.
Technical Skills & Experience
* 7+ years of backend development experience in production environments.
* Strong experience with one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, C#, Go).
* Experience with modern backend frameworks and libraries.
* Solid understanding of backend architecture and design patterns.
* Hands‑on experience with Linux and containerisation (Docker).
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, SDLC automation, and DevSecOps.
* Strong understanding of application security and non-function requirements.
* Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills.
