For a PNRR-funded research project, the Medical Genetics Unit at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele (Milan) is looking for a biologist / bioinformatician with expertise in bioinformatics, interested in working in the field of translational oncology and cancer genomics.
The research activity is part of a translational oncology project focused on tumors associated with Von Hippel-Lindau disease, including clear cell renal cell carcinoma and other VHL-related tumors, integrating genomic analyses with molecular and clinical data.
The researcher will contribute to the biological and bioinformatic analysis of tumor genomic data, with a particular focus on Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and integrative analysis of molecular datasets.
Main activities include:
• analysis of tumor genomic data (WGS / NGS)
• development and implementation of bioinformatic pipelines for variant detection and annotation
• integrative analysis of genomic and clinical data
• exploration of genomic alterations and correlations with tumor biology
-Location: IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele – Milan
-Duration: one-year contract, with possible extension depending on project development.
-PNRR research funding (salary according to institutional regulations)
Ideal background:
• experience in bioinformatics and cancer genomics
• experience with NGS analysis and variant interpretation
• familiarity with bioinformatic tools and genomic pipelines
• programming or statistical analysis (Python, R or similar)
• experience with DNA sequencing data analysis (NGS/WGS), including variant calling and annotation
