About The Position
Leonardo is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our team in delivering essential services for a prestigious organization. This opportunity is designed for professionals eager to contribute to impactful projects that support international collaboration and enhance digital solutions within the Defense Domain .
The Systems Engineer will operate in the context of Defense, with frequent co-location at the customer's premises. Availability to travel and/or relocate to Brussels is therefore compulsory. The individual will:
* Oversee and lead analysis of data, development of architecture products, and development of system requirements, integrating with I&T activities, supervising efforts to maintain project schedules and meet performance requirements.
* Lead all phases of a planned BMD program's operational testing, including collaborative test planning, integration, execution, result analysis, and reporting.
* Mentor junior and mid-level system engineers, contributing to their experience and the team's capability development.
* Develop test objectives, requirements, plans, and procedures.
* Support and mentor operations specialists during test events.
* Lead the integration of national contributions in test preparations and contribute with minimal supervision.
The activities involve generating documentation in UK English and communicating with program office personnel, stakeholders, and national representatives in meetings and conferences. The role may involve working with and supporting military staff.
Requirements
Background
Master’s Degree in Engineering or a technical discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/education; PhD preferred.
Seniority
* At least 12+ years of defense-related experience in systems engineering and integration.
* Previous experience in defense projects is strongly preferred.
Technical Competencies
* Knowledge of systems engineering, integration, and testing, preferably within the defense domain.
* Experience in architecture development (NAF), requirements, and specifications, using systems engineering tools, testing, missile/air defense, and international environments is desired.
Languages
* Excellent proficiency in English is essential.
* Proficiency in Italian is highly preferred.
* Knowledge of another European language (Dutch or French) is an asset.
Computer Skills
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
* Advanced knowledge of DOORS, Rhapsody, Archimate, or similar tools.
Behavioral Skills
* Ability to understand requirements and propose compliant, cost-effective solutions.
* Strong work ethic, team orientation, mission focus, and pride in work.
* Experience coordinating technical teams in complex projects.
* Ability to interface with customers and present solutions effectively.
* Proven stakeholder influence skills.
Other
* Availability to relocate to Belgium and travel as needed.
* Must be a NATO Member State national.
* Hold or be eligible for NOS clearance.
