In the framework of the EU Copernicus Programme, ESA is responsible for the systematic, on-demand rapid provisioning of Earth Observation data acquired by the Copernicus Contributing Missions – CCM (including institutional and commercial missions) to authorized users, notably the Copernicus Services, HorizonEurope projects and other end users of the European Commission; this responsibility is implemented through: /p ul lidata provisioning contracts concluded between ESA and the CCM data providers; /li liESA-managed industrial services providing authorized users with fit‑for‑purpose, rapid, robust access to EO data in addition to Sentinel data. /li /ul pSelected for this position you will be responsible for the provision of the CCM data solutions according to user needs and for ensuring the availability, reliability and security of the interface layer between the CCM data provider systems and the ESA‑managed data access services. /p pYou will functionally report to the ESA EO Third‑Party Mission Manager and work in close collaboration with the ESA team involved in the CCM activities. /p pFurther information on the current operational set‑up for the on‑demand fast access to CCM Data can be found at Systematic CCM datasets are available through /p h3Duties /h3 ul liPreparing and implementing the procurement of Copernicus Contributing Missions data solutions in line with the relevant programmatic objectives and with the applicable technical/operational requirements; /li liIn strong coordination with the relevant ESA manager, ensuring adequate definition, implementation, operations and maintenance of the interfaces between the CCM data provider systems and the ESA‑managed data access services for both systematic and on‑demand data provisioning; /li liFostering effective operational coordination between CCM Data providers and the ESA‑managed data access services with the objective of supporting smooth data provisioning in line with evolving user requirements; /li liEvaluating CCM data providers capabilities against evolving authorized users’ needs and supporting the assessment of the associated operational impacts on ESA‑managed data access services and contractual arrangements; /li liMonitoring and reporting on CCM Data Provisioning performances in accordance with SLAs, including data timely availability and data quotas consumption. /li /ul h3Technical competencies /h3 ul liSound knowledge of Earth Observation programmes, in particular the Copernicus Space and Service Component; /li liFamiliarity with EO satellite missions and sensors (optical, SAR, hyperspectral, TIR, atmospheric, etc.) both in the institutional and in the commercial domain; /li liIn‑depth knowledge of Earth Observation data products and their corresponding applications; /li liProven experience in the technical and operational management of EO data provisioning, including definition, implementation and maintenance of API‑based interfaces; /li liGood knowledge of ESA and/or industrial implementation and procurement processes, including the definition of technical requirements, tendering and contract execution. /li /ul h3Behavioural competencies /h3 ul liResult Orientation /li liOperational Efficiency /li liFostering Cooperation /li liRelationship Management /li liContinuous Improvement /li liForward Thinking /li /ul h3Education and Professional Experience /h3 pA master’s in a relevant engineering subject and/or Earth science is required for this post together with 5 years of relevant professional experience. /p h3Additional Requirements /h3 ul liA minimum of five years’ relevant experience is required for this post, as well as a high level of motivation and dedication, with the ability to work effectively and with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility in an international and interdisciplinary team; /li liThe ability to maintain an overall system view while managing day‑to‑day technical challenges is considered an asset, together with previous experience in the operational coordination of several partners under time pressure. /li /ul h3Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness /h3 pESA is an equal opportunity employer, committed to achieving diversity within the workforce and creating an inclusive working environment.
