AI Engineer – Neuromorphic Processors & Event-Based Vision for Robotic and Space Systems
We are seeking an AI Engineer specialized in neuromorphic processors to design and implement advanced image processing algorithms tailored for event-based cameras (EBCs). The ideal candidate will bridge cutting-edge neuromorphic computing paradigms with computer vision, enabling high-performance, low-latency perception systems for real-time applications in aerospace, defense, and autonomous systems.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and implement AI/ML algorithms optimized for event-based vision sensors (DVS, ATIS, DAVIS, etc.).
- Develop neuromorphic-inspired architectures for low-power, real-time image processing and feature extraction.
- Optimize algorithms for neuromorphic processors (Loihi, SpiNNaker, BrainScaleS, Akida, etc.).
- Collaborate with space engineers to map algorithms efficiently onto specialized neuromorphic hardware.
- Explore spiking neural networks (SNNs) and biologically inspired models to improve robustness and adaptability.
- Benchmark algorithm performance across latency, throughput, and power consumption metrics.
- Support integration into larger multi-sensor fusion systems.
Qualifications
- MSc/PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, or related field.
- Strong background in neuromorphic computing and spiking neural networks (SNNs).
- Hands-on experience with event-based cameras and asynchronous data streams.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Familiarity with neuromorphic processors (Intel Loihi, SynSense, BrainChip Akida, etc.).
- Solid understanding of computer vision, signal processing, and real-time systems.
- Experience in GPU/FPGA acceleration is a plus.
