Role and responsibilities
We are looking for a System Engineer with an IT background who will monitor, maintain and support Nutanix/VMWare hyperconverged infrastructures.
As a System Engineer you will work on complex projects for customers architecting, building, operating and migrating infrastructures, with our teams based in Milan and Turin.
As a system engineer you will be responsible for:
* Monitor, maintain and support your existing Nutanix/VMWare hyperconverged infrastructure, ensuring timely and effective resolution of host, storage and virtual machine issues.
* Manage infrastructure incidents and change requests opened by the customer.
* Manage VMware vSphere, vCenter and other VMware technologies in a production environment.
* Ensure optimal performance and scalability of VMware solutions through capacity planning and resource allocation.
* Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure VMware environments are well integrated with other systems and networks.
* Apply security patches and updates to your Nutanix products, VMware, and virtual machines to maintain system security and compliance.
* Create and maintain documentation of system configurations, standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides.
* At least 1 year of practical experience with Nutanix technologies;
* Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with VMware technologies;
* Competence in standards and backup technologies (preferably VeeaM);
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix or similar;
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to set priorities and manage diverse workloads;
* Excellent knowledge of english.
Nice to have:
* Knowledge of Kubernetes containerization technologies;
* Certification on VMware;
* Additional IT certifications (e.g., AWS and Azure);
* Previous experience in consultancy.
