Deployment Execution Engineer, Robotics Deployment Packaging and Innovation - First Deployment Execution
Amazon is seeking an experienced business-oriented Deployment Engineer to support the delivery of large-scale and highly complex logistical process automation and storage initiatives for the continued expansion of our fulfillment network. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with automation deployments combined with a strong technical problem-solving ability across multiple sites and technologies. The role requires a holistic view of all aspects of an Amazon Warehouse (Fulfillment Centre, Inbound Cross-Dock, Sortation Centre or Distribution Centre) while focusing on its automation technologies and storage solutions. This person will evaluate and deliver state-of-the-art material handling systems and robotic innovations while coordinating internal teams and external contractors to support the launching of new automated buildings and expansions in existing sites. The role could be based in London, Madrid, Barcelona or Vercelli with ~50% travel across Europe during peak deployment season, with occasional international travel.
The applicable collective agreement for this role is CCNL Telecomunicazioni. The position is classified at level C7 or above, depending on the candidate’s skills, competences and experience. The minimum gross annual base salary for this position is 47,100 Euros gross annually, with additional benefits according to the collective agreement. Amazon reserves the right to offer a higher salary and/or level, depending on the candidate’s skills, competencies and experience. Amazon’s package may include a sign-on payment. In addition, the candidate may be eligible to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com, Inc. in the USA. Additional statutory benefits and company supplementary benefits may apply subject to further terms.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Own the creation, validation, and continuous improvement of deployment deliverables (such as work instructions and 3PA training) across multiple technologies, ensuring they are complete, standardized, and ready for global scale.
* Support evaluation and delivery of large-scale automation technologies including conveyance, sortation and robotics systems, often across multiple sites at a time.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams including internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
* Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art material handling systems and robotic innovations.
* Ensure deployment deliverables are delivered on time, within the timeline, and to Amazon's quality standards.
* Provide guidance and troubleshooting for complex automation deployments.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize deployment processes.
* Collaborate with product, safety, deployment, quality and vendor teams throughout the project lifecycle.
A Day in the Life
You will be interacting daily with a wide variety of functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization and in multiple time zones. You will conduct multiple weekly meetings with internal teams, stakeholders and vendors to execute deliverables. You’ll liaise with subject matter experts from across the organization, dive deep into the technologies we deploy, and build relationships to refine and improve our processes. Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree.
* Experience in planning, scheduling and auditing maintenance activities.
* Experience working with CMMS software.
* Experience in project/program delivery or deployment execution.
* Knowledge of automation technologies, material handling systems and robotics.
* Strong problem-solving abilities.
* Experience authoring technical documentation, particularly detailed and user-focused work instructions or standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field execution.
* Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
* Experience working with and managing third party vendors.
* Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing.
* Experience with robotic deployments in warehouse or fulfillment environments.
* Experience working and managing external contractors and vendors.
* Background in logistics, supply chain or operations.
* Experience with Amazon Robotics or similar automation platforms.
* Experience delivering training to contractors or third-party teams on-site, ensuring readiness and adherence to deployment standards (e.g., 3PA training).
