Overview
Retail Business Services (RBS) supports Amazon’s Retail business growth WW through three core tasks: (a) Selection, where RBS sources, creates and enriches ASINs to drive GMS growth; (b) Defect Elimination, where RBS resolves inbound supply chain defects and develops root cause fixes to improve free cash flow; and (c) supports operational process for WW Retail teams where there is an air gap in the tech stack. The tech team in RBS develops automation that leverages Machine/Deep Learning to scale execution of these high complex tasks that currently require human cognitive skills. Our solutions ensure that information in Amazon's catalog is complete, correct, and comprehensive enough to give Amazon customers a great shopping experience every time. This is where you can help.
Responsibilities
* Work directly with business teams to solve support needs using existing applications, collect requirements, and develop scalable solutions in collaboration with other technical teams.
* Translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build scalable systems.
* Contribute to maintaining services, health, and robustness; implement and maintain the solutions you provide.
* Collaborate with engineers to maintain multiple products and services, create process automation scripts, monitor, and handle ad-hoc operational requests.
* Understand the business impact of support decisions and drive improvements in operational efficiency by identifying and developing SLAs, metrics, monitors, procedures, tools, and documentation.
* Provide on-call support for alarm monitoring, application infrastructure, and bug fixes.
* On-board clients onto the platform and familiarize them with platform features and capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
* 2+ years of software development, or 2+ years of technical support experience.
* Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
* Experience in Unix and in React JS & Java as front-end & back-end.
* Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
* BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong knowledge of one high-level programming language (preferably Java or Python).
* Ability to solve complex problems independently.
* Understanding of the complete deployment life cycle from design, build, test & deploy.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development.
* Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID.
* Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON.
