We're seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Freelance Software Tester to join our IT/Digital team. If you enjoy pushing systems to their limits, thrive in complex environments, and want to contribute to healthcare technology, this role is for you.
You'll be testing a sophisticated Windows desktop application that interfaces with local/remote databases and hospital network infrastructures. Expect high-performance challenges and meaningful impact.
🔍 What You'll Be Doing
1. Robustness, Resiliency & Failover Testing
* Simulate network outages and test client/server recovery
* Validate system behavior under failure conditions
* Document recovery procedures and system recovery times
2. Performance Testing
* Simulate bandwidth variations and monitor client behavior
* Run CPU/memory load tests on desktop apps
* Stress test servers and databases to uncover bottlenecks
* Analyze queries and recommend optimizations
3. Functional Database Testing
* Validate data integrity across user scenarios
* Test table population/modification accuracy
* Ensure seamless database operations
4. Deliverables
* Comprehensive test plans and execution reports
* Scripts and tools for performance/resilience testing
* Clear documentation for future test cycles
* Actionable recommendations for system optimization
🛠️ What You Bring
* Hands-on experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools
* Familiarity with Wireshark, Cisco Packet Tracer, and traffic simulators (Ixia, Spirent)
* Strong grasp of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, QoS
* Comfort with Jira / Azure DevOps
* Ability to interpret performance metrics and write technical reports
