We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our AI Services and Delivery team. Within the team you will be part of the Data Science chapter exchanging experience, know-how and ideas with other data scientists of different seniorities and backgrounds. As a Data Scientist you will be leading methodological effort both for improving Unicredit AI Platform foundations (e.g. foundational Agents for specific task) and for specific projects deliveries across different Unicredit domains and geographies. This role focuses on Generative AI and Agentic AI applications in an enterprise ecosystem, data scientist will need to bridge business needs, performance expectations and technical feasibility.
What you'll be doing
* Design AI solutions from a methodological perspective, collaborating with Business stakeholders for problem scoping and definition and with AI Engineers for solution development and deployment.
* Assess the feasibility of requirements, also leveraging quick prototyping, and map them to AI methodologies.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate AI methodology results, define evaluation frameworks and enterprise level test set to guarantee at scale performance evaluations.
* Collect and measure feedback during the adoption phase of AI solutions, ensuring incremental improvements.
* Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI methodologies (e.g. latest Agentic AI Developments)
* For Senior Roles, act as tech lead on horizontal (capabilities and foundations) and vertical (business specific project) delivery. Acting as focal point for methodology discussion, planning and execution holding accountability for project success and stakeholder engagement on AI System performances.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate has:
* Master's degree in quantitative field.
* 5+ years of industry or research experience in data science or AI, with a focus on methodological efforts and enterprise AI system adoption.
* At least 2 years of experience working with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies.
* Hands on experience with Agentic System design and development, including agentic system testing.
* In-depth knowledge of genAI and deep-learning libraries (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, PyTorch).
* Basic understanding and experience with common market agentic frameworks (ADK, Crew AI).
* Understanding and hands-on experience with A2A and MCP.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders
* Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
* For more senior roles, experience in leading the delivery of technical teams bridging gaps between methodological and engineering effort guaranteeing smooth transtition between prototyping and production grade system.
Nice to have:
* Familiarity with cloud-native AI solutions for model development and AI services (Azure, Google Cloud).
* Proficiency in MLOps frameworks and best practices.
* Knowledge in object-oriented software development, particularly in Python.
* Experience with production grade Agentic systems, including performance monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
* Experience with open-source LM finetuning for Agentic AI applications.
* Experience in consultancy, customer engineering and fast prototyping
